Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May has told MPs they have a 'national duty' to resolve the Brexit crisis. Today she defended her decision to accept a further delay of six months after late-night talks with EU leaders last night. But some of her own MPs have accused her of 'abject surrender' and called on her to resign. The UK was due to leave the EU on Friday evening, but now faces remaining in the bloc it voted to leave until the end of October. Back in Westminster, Mrs May held further talks with the opposition leader, Jeremy Corbyn, in an effort to break the deadlock.

Huw Edwards presents tonight’s Brexit coverage for the BBC News at Ten, including a report from Political Editor Laura Kuenssberg, reactions from people in the Northwest of England, and the views of global business leaders.
