Be an opponent, not a victim! | Shanaya Munot | TEDxYouth@JPIS

   TEDx Talks
   Published: 1 week ago

Strength is not a determinant in self-defence. It is more about the mentality rather the physicality. A young seventeen-year-old puts across mind boggling questions and alters the perception of reality. Shanaya is a 17 year old student from Mumbai. She's a social entrepreneur, self proclaimed foodie and a national level Taekwondo champion. Being brought up in a country like India, sexual harassment and women's safety has been an issue that has always remained close to her heart. Hence, she has always been passionate about self defence and is adamant on demystifying the myths that surround it. Currently, Shanaya is working on directing, producing and translating self defence videos in local dialects in order to positively impact the lives of students especially women in rural areas of the country. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at Show more
